Lal Karaalioğlu

Born in Istanbul in 1998, Lal Karaalioğlu was accepted to the part-time program of Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2005 and became a student of Ayşen Katipoğlu. She appeared in a concert with the orchestra for the first time in 2016 with the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ender Sakpınar. After graduating from both the German High School and the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2017, she studied with Prof. Ewa Kupiec in Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany. She was accepted into Ewa Kupiec's class.

During her education, she attended many master classes. She participated to the competition "Orbetello Junior Piano" held in Italy in 2019. She won the second prize. After on she participated to the “César Franck International Piano Competition” and won the third prize. In Turkey she had lessons from renowned pianists such as İdil Biret, Gülsin Onay, Hüseyin Sermet… When she was abroad (Italy, Poland, Belgium, Spain..) she attended to the classes of Akiko Ebi, Ewa Poblocka, Howard Shelley, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and many more. She was awarded the "Deutschland Stipendium" and "Fondation Clavarte" scholarships.

In 2021, she was chosen as one of the 13 young female musicians entitled to take part in İKSV's "Women Stars of Tomorrow" project in 2021, Lal took part in the concert held as part of the Istanbul Music Festival.

Lal Karaalioğlu currently studies piano with Prof. Ewa Kupiec while she continues travel between Germany and Turkey to perform in solo recitals and in chamber music concerts with her newly founded trio "Trio Hera".
